Download: Sleigh Bells

By now I'm sure you've noticed there is never an MTV show I shy away from, and Skins is no different. I am totally hooked. Its what I imagine my life might have been if I gone to public school instead of sheltered and sexily dressed in uniform at private school. But the thing that really stuck with me was the song used in the teasers on MTV leading up to the premiere. "Kids" by Sleigh Bells has been on repeat on my ipod for weeks now, its your turn to get hooked. Enjoy.

The Grass is Always Greener....in Beverly Hills

I watch all the Real Housewives seasons on Bravo and am not really a fan of most. I've given up on Orange County. I am so over Atlanta and watching NeNe turn ghetto on someone every episode, too painful to watch. Without Bethany, New York will be so petty now that Jill Zarin has been labeled the Devil Incarnate. And don't get me started on DC, what a joke - I never tuned in again after just one episode. But Beverly Hills Housewives is too good to be true. Like the wise Wendy Williams once said, "This ain't no Teresa Guidice bankrupcy money, this is REAL money." This season has gone by faster than a catty eye roll in a montage of Vanderpump pink, shiny diamonds, Brooke Shields wannabe hair, fake smiles, and Chanel/Hermes/Louboutin. But the one thing that bothers me on these shows is a hypocrite who can't own up to her own flawed personality. I checked out Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen when Camille Grammar was the guest, and boy did she change her tune on anything she ever said and did on that show. Bitch, if you're gonna take back every annoyingly coy smile and backhanded comment while insisting you take the high road, then you should never speak again. She changed her tune quickly after seeing herself on television and backtracked so hard she bascially regretted ever being born. This is why I LOVE me some Lisa Vanderpump and Kyle Richards, they are who they are and own up to it all. I was always Team Kyle from day one and that will never change. She has also become somewhat of a style icon for me. I think her wardrobe could bring me well on my way to being the woman I dream to be - big jewels, big hair, bright prints and slammin curves and ending with a permanent move to Miami in my seventies, can't wait.

I am sad the season is over but am waiting on pins and needles for the reunion after the bombs that were dropped at the end of the finale. Lisa is no longer Cedric's main hag? Kim is an alchoholic and checked in to rehab?? She and Kyle have been on the outs??? A girl can't live with this knowledge without having full disclosure on the details, the reunion episode(s) can't come soon enought (because you know they will drag it all out in two parts).

GG Love

I skipped on commenting about last week's GG episode cause I thought it was Eh, only so so. This one kicked it up a notch but went out with a bang (literally). My thoughts:
  • Juliet's creepy and desperate tone when "running into" Serena + the Bump It in her hair was so uncomfortable, I physically cringed.
  • Only Serena's psychotic and insecure outburst when stalking a guy would come off as endearing as opposed to stage 5 clinger.
  • "I'm gonna hit the cheese table" sounds like something I would say in an awk moment. Not so well played Humphrey.
  • AND there is NO way that Serena can remember the Gettysburg Address in an instant from elementary school but not pick up on the Single White Female vibe that Juliet puts off.
  • One of the minions guesses what the tape holds, "A Nelly Yuki snuff film?" Brilliant writers, well done.
  • Chuck/Blair Hate Sex, amaaazing. The slow motion and Chuck's bow tie were just too, too much. Ahh, its moments like this that are why I live for TV.

God Bless the Kardashians

I eat up any and all celebrity news. When someone shamelessly airs their dirty laundry for the adoring fans, I'm in hog heaven. So imagine my delight when I tuned in to the Keeping Up With the Kardashians finale tonight. Kim tapes a conversation between her and Reggie, and man does the truth come out. I will admit, I was CRUSHED when they broke up, screaming WHYYYY to the sky above. Turns out, HE broke up with HER?! And then he wanted to get back together for a third time?? AND he was texting groupies?? Judge on that, harshly. Bet he regrets it all after seeing Kim naked and painted silver in all her glory inside the November issue of W. We also get to see his jealous envy when Kim moves on to Miles. Don't worry Reg, I still have faith that you'll win in the end. Miles is already out of the picture and we aaall know you two belong together.

The entire hour episode was full of juicy gossip perfection.

GG Love, xoxo

For anyone who doesn't read the recap of Gossip Girl on NYMag.com's Daily Intel, you absolutely need to get on board. Every Tuesday morning I am literally DYING out loud at Chris and Jessica's hilarious scoreboard of the newest episode. Its every witty, snarky, embarrassing-that-I-care-this-much-about-tv comment you say to yourself, or wish you were smart enough to say. Sometimes I like to comment on the recap with my own observations that the geniuses at Daily Intel may have ignored (my old roommate Marjorie is all too familiar with my love for commenting on the recap).

  • Prize quote- Dan to Nate: I shouldn't have told you about the cock swap. Oh I'm sorry, it was cotton swab, you shouldn't mumble so much Humphrey.
  • Who is still a minion in college? Girls, gather a small amount of self esteem and at least roll your eyes at Blair in retort. BUT WAIT!? That girl is a super bitch, turns on Blair with CHUCK (?!) and finally realizes being a minion was not going to get her laid.
  • Hilarious that Serena talks to Blair about maturity before her meeting with a professor, then immediately walks away to reveal the sluttiest booty shorts known to man. But of course.
  • Why, oh why did they give Katie Cassidy that god awful brassy dye job? Is that a sly reference to the fact that Juliet's pretending to be rich and can't actually afford good color? Because no one wins in that scenario, no one.
  • Sucks for Serena and the faux-email soliciting sex, but love her topknot! At least she looked bangin' before being embarrassed completely, yet she still didn't seem too fazed by the accusation.
  • When Vanessa cries, she kind of looks like a feral cat, no? Rewind and look, I swear she does.
  • Ugh, the dreaded return of Little J and her whack extensions is close...

Thank You Grilled Cheesus

I have always been a fan of musicals. After seeing Les Miserables one summer in New York, I played the soundtrack on repeat for months and belted songs to my audience of stuffed animals. I have seen many Broadway shows and love them all, even Xanadu (um, especially Xanadu...). This is why my love for Glee runs deep. But its not just the songs that have me freaking with excitement every week, the one liners on that show are unreal. I especially love when Glee turns up the jew in episodes and represents for the tribe. My favorite moments from this week's episode include:
  • There are no words, Rachel's face when Finn announces he's found Jesus was fan-freaking-tastic
  • Puck - "I'm a total Jew for Jesus. He's my number one Heeb."
  • I laughed everytime Finn said Cheesus because of his lisp...does that make me a terrible person?
  • Gospel choir singing Bride Over Troubled Water gave me serious chills
Unfortunately there were not many funny moments as this was a particularly serious episode and had me weeping and snotting like a baby.
